Morgan Keith Chaffin

DVM, MS, DACVIM-LAIM

Speaker Bio
Dr. Chaffin is a Professor of Equine Internal Medicine at the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. He is Associate Department Head of Clinical Programs in the Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences. A 1985 graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine, He has served as a clinician, teacher and researcher at TAMU for more than 30 years. His clinical interests include all aspects of equine internal medicine and ultrasonography. His primary teaching efforts are focused on respiratory, gastrointestinal, neurologic, metabolic, hepatic, renal disorders of horses. His scholarly interests include equine internal medicine, pediatrics, respiratory disease and ultrasonography, Rhodococcus equi foal pneumonia, equine infectious diseases, and equine neurologic disease.

Mike Cissell

DVM, MS, DAVCS-LA

Speaker Bio
Dr. Mike Cissell is a Large Animal Surgeon in private practice in Prescott, Arizona. In addition to working in private practice, Dr. Cissell is also the full time Technical Veterinarian for AniCell Biotech. Dr. Cissell completed his surgical residency in 2009 at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, and attained Diplomate status with the ACVS in 2011. Outside of surgery, Dr. Cissell’s main interests are in sports medicine and rehabilitation, and dentistry.

Sharon Klingler

Speaker Bio 
Sharon has been a veterinary technician for over 30 years. She worked in private practice for almost 20 years where she worked in both an emergency and a general practice as the office manager, the anesthesia technician, and emergency technician. In 1997, Sharon joined the anesthesia department at the University of Georgia Veterinary Teaching Hospital to pursue a career as an anesthesia technician specialist. She is a credentialed member of the Academy of Veterinary Technician Anesthetists. For the past few years, Sharon has been involved with the American Association of Equine Veterinary Technicians and is a member of the organizing committee for the newly recognized Equine Veterinary Nursing Academy. She also speaks to technicians at both local and national conferences.

Joni Watkins

Speaker Bio 
Joni attended Texas State Technical College in Waco, Texas, graduating in 1978 as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Following graduation, she joined Texas A&M University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in the radiology section of the department of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery. After 5 years, she transferred to the department of Large Animal Medicine and Surgery allowing her to combine her love for radiology with her passion for horses, where she spent the remainder of her professional career (26 years) teaching students the art of equine radiographic imaging and providing high quality radiographs of patients admitted to the large animal clinic of Texas A&M’s veterinary medical teaching hospital. In 2006, she joined Sound Technologies where her duties included lecturing and providing laboratory instruction in radiographic and ultrasonographic techniques. Since 2017, she has been employed by MinXray Inc. as a lecturer and laboratory instructor for radiation safety and imaging techniques as well as sales consultant. She has presented numerous lectures on radiographic imaging at the local, state, and national level.
