Here are the list of eligibility requirements for holding office on the AAEVT Executive Board:

  • Only current and active members, in good standing of the Association, shall have the privilege of voting or holding office.
  • Members running for office must have a minimum of three years experience in the equine veterinary industry, and shall not be student members.
  • Members also must have acted as:
    • a Regional Contact,
    • been an online instructor for our Online program
    • assisted with/organized a Regional meeting,
    • assisted the Executive Board in some initiative or project,
    • or participated on a task force
  • It is preferable that officers on the Executive Board are currently employed in the equine veterinary industry.


Elections shall be held on line utilizing the Election section on the AAEVT web site. The Executive Director, along with the Governance Council, will solicit and present a slate of nominees for the offices.

Nominees will be required to submit a nomination form, along with a brief resume/bio, by the date specified by the Secretary. All nominees will be notified as to their eligibility/acceptance in writing within 10 days of the opening of the election process.
