Here are the list of eligibility requirements for holding office on the AAEVT Executive Board:
Only current and active members, in good standing of the Association, shall have the privilege of voting or holding office.
Members running for office must have:
- A minimum of three years experience in the equine veterinary industry, and shall not be student members.
- Have been a member of the AAEVT for at least 2 years
- Possess good moral, ethical, and professional aptitude
- Have served in a volunteer capacity for the Association, such as:
- Regional Contact
- Been actively involved in the Veterinary Industry, an instructor for an online course, or work with a Veterinary Technology Program
{It is preferable that officers on the Executive Board are currently employed in the equine veterinary industry.}

Elections shall be held on line utilizing the Election section on the AAEVT web site. The Executive Director, along with the Governance Council, will solicit and present a slate of nominees for the offices.
Nominees will be required to submit a nomination form, along with a brief resume/bio, by the date specified by the Secretary. All nominees will be notified as to their eligibility/acceptance in writing within 10 days of the opening of the election process.
