Thomas J. Divers

DVM, DACVIM, DACVECC
Professor of Medicine and co-Chief of the Section of Large Animal Medicine

Speaker Bio

Dr. Divers has been the recipient of teaching awards at three universities, has received the Educator of the Year Award from both the AAEP and ACVECC and recently received the Cornell University Hospital for Animals Distinguished Service Award for service to referring veterinarians. He is co-author of three textbooks, has authored numerous book chapters and has more than 190 peer-reviewed scientific publications. Dr. Divers’ research activities have included newly-discovered hepatitis viruses in horses, bacterial and toxic causes of liver failure in horses, equine neurological diseases including equine motor neuron disease and equine protozoal myelitis, equine lyme disease, equine leptospirosis, diseases of the urinary system and advances in internal medicine and critical care for horses, foals and dairy cattle.

Kelly Knickelbein

Speaker Bio

Dr. Knickelbein is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed an internship in equine medicine and surgery at Rhinebeck Equine and a comparative ophthalmology internship at the University of California-Davis. Following this, she completed a residency in comparative ophthalmology at UC Davis. Dr. Knickelbein is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists.

Dr. Knickelbein thoroughly enjoys the comparative nature of ophthalmology. Her primary interests include equine ophthalmology, heritable ocular disorders, and ophthalmic imaging.

Jlynn Meyer

Speaker Bio
Jlynn is a Licensed Veterinary Technician with ten years of experience in equine surgery, neonatal intensive care, and emergency medicine. He attended Alfred State College to obtain his veterinary technology degree. He then did an internship followed by a full time surgery position at Peterson and Smith Equine Hospital. Since 2015 he has been working full time at Cornell University and part time with Finger Lakes Equine Practice. He is currently the Section Coordinator of Cornell Large Animal Emergency and Nursing Care. Jlynn has been an AAEVT member since 2014 and AAEVT Regional Director since 2020.
