18 Feb AAEVT Scholarships
Scholarship deadlines are fast approaching for the Spring/Summer. Please do not miss a chance to receive a scholarship to assist with:
- AAEVT Online Certification Academy, in honor of Milissa Finnegan, RVT
- AAEVT Anesthesia Society Scholarship, sponsored by Zoetis & Patterson Veterinary

Lauren Kasnet, scholarship winner AAEVT Anesthesia Society – I became interested in horse racing in high school and wanted to be a jockey, which led to me galloping thoroughbreds and spending about 8 years exercise riding at the track, between New York and Florida. I was always interested in working with a vet, so when I left the racetrack I went to school to get my degree in Veterinary Technology. I became an LVT, I moved to KY and took a job at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital as an anesthesia technician and I’ve never looked back! I have been there since January 2020 and I love how much I can learn from the large and varied caseload that we see, and I am always trying to improve upon what I already know.
Nikki Stoke, winner of the Anne Bailey Scholarship – The majority of Nikki’s work experience has been at small animal clinics, however she has always had a passion for horses. She got her first horse at the age of 7, and not long after, she discovered Equestrian Vaulting. She has been working at Steinbeck Peninsula Equine Clinic for a year and a half and has been working on her Veterinary Assistant Certification for a month now and enjoying all the knowledge that it is bringing!
