Wanted: Full time certified equine technician for a busy 5
doctor practice in Prior Lake, Minnesota. We are located 30 minutes south of
Minneapolis. Cleary Lake Veterinary Hospital has a newer hospital facility
which includes a breeding barn, indoor arena, paddocks, isolation unit, surgery
suite and 2 recovery stalls. We are looking for a reliable, motivated equine
technician that can work independently and prioritize tasks to become part of
our team. Responsibilities include: treatments, assisting the veterinarians,
equine handling, emergencies, medical records, in house lab, equine
reproduction, surgery prep and anesthesia. Equipment knowledge a plus (digital
ultrasound and radiographs, endoscopy) Must be able to be on call for
emergencies and able to work weekends.
Wages are based on experience.

(Columbus, OH) The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center has a full time position available in the Equine ICU. Candidate must be a registered veterinary technician (or equal credentials). Technician will provide treatments to equine ICU patients (including some food animal), instruct and supervise senior veterinary and technician students, maintain cleanliness and stocking in the hospital, and assist clinicians and residents during procedures, emergencies, and occasionally emergency surgery. Position Description: Veterinary technician needed to work in the Veterinary
Teaching Hospital Equine Surgery Unit at Washington State University. Provide veterinary technical support, instruction,
and assistance during examination, diagnostic procedures, induction,
anesthesia, surgery and recovery of animals within the Equine Surgery
section. Prepare animals for
surgery and diagnostic procedures including pre- and post-operative treatment,
radiology, application of splints and casts, and other various procedures. Administer medications and vaccinations
and maintain patient records.
Receive and discharge patients, generate cost estimates for patient care
and surgical procedures, and direct telephone communications before and after
surgery as directed. Field phone
calls from clients and referring veterinarians regarding surgical and medical
questions and procedures; schedule appointments as needed or directed. Salary: Excellent salary and benefits including paid vacation,
sick days and holidays; medical, dental, and vision; and retirement. Required Qualifications:
Must be a credentialed
veterinary technician in the State of Washington at time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in equine surgery; experience in equine handling (leading, jogging, haltering, and handling feet); and experience restraining equine animals including foals.
